Uefa Europa League Update~~ Match-day 5

It was an end to another chilly day in the office for teams playing the Europa league with some visiting stronger teams clearly struggling to play in the dense snow of their weaker opposition's stadium which could be the reason why there were some shocks especially in Group A,Well while Man City did well enough to cruise through with a 3:0 victory Juventus on the other hand who were last year's semi finalist were dumped out of the competition after having a miserable day in the office against Polish side Lech Poizan at the Stadion Miejski where i could barely see The Juventus clad in white attire as the snow came down as if there was a snow storm or something and one thing i realize is Juventus were under more cloth which could have been a conclusion that Italy isn't that cold?This was only one of the three matches i watched but i will update ya'll with the latest results anyway.The Juventes match ended in an 1-1 all draw after Aqualiani canceled out an early goal by Rudnevs in the 12 minute with a late goal thanks to an assist by krasic...But all though they pushed forward for the deciding goal including a chance that Meterrazi headed straight into the keeper from point blank very late on but Lech stayed on and got a deserved point to move on the next stage.

In group B,Aris stunned Atletico with a great comeback at the Estadion Vicente Calderon By turning the game around after falling out of the lead Thanks to a late strike with 9 minutes to go by Nikos Lazridis.The defender not only guided his side to victory but also made history by making the Greek club the first in history to win at spain thus moving them above the reiging champions.The other game was straight forward as Leverkusen defeated Rosenberg away and If i'm right,Norway would have been pouring with snow too :)

In Group C,Sporting made history for themselves with their 100th victory in all Uefa Competitions thus booking their place in the next round with a 1:0 Win against Lille through a goal by defender Polga...In the other match,Belgium was pouring with snow themselves when Gent hosted Levski and came away with a valuable goal to grab all three points thanks to a goal by Brazilian defender Wallance thirteen minutes from time to move the Belgium side to second spot and only need a point in their last game.

In Group G,Zenit St Petersburg who already qualified kept their 100% record in tact with a convincing 3-1 win against Anderlect at home to give the Belgian side an uphill task to qualify for the next round of the competition.And they have to hope that AEK who defeated Hadjuk of the same scoreline lose in the next game and they have to win and also have a better goal difference.

In Group H,Another match i saw was between Swiss Club Young Boys entertaining Stuggart who defeated them 3:0 on the opening day.The game was called to a hold for several times due to the snow on the artificial field which i have seen many clubs struggle already.And this time the victims were Stuggart who only had to face the pitch but also the snow as they had quite a tough outing trying not to control the ball but themselves too.And somehow they shocked me though as they were in the lead till the 81st minute and that's were everything chance as the Young Boys scored 3 goals in 7 minutes to condemn the German giants to their first lost in the cup but it didn't really matter as they already had qualified while this win for Young Boys also put them through.In the other match,OB Struck a sword into the hearts of the Getafe Faithfuls as a late equalizer eliminated them from having a chance of qualifying together with OB...

In Group I,A late goal for Metalist's midfielder Oliynyk in the 88th minute send the Ukraian outfit to the next round after coming back from a goal down against Debrecen.In the other game though,Sampdoria went into the game with an easy task of only getting a point against PSV to have any chance of qualifying and they looked set to go through after Pazzini scored in injury time of the first half but a magical performance by Ola Toivenen in the second half to score two goals send the Dutch team into the next round in style with a game to spare...

~~~~The other group matches will be played later on,I will keep you updated with that too anyway here are all the scores of last night's games.~~~
