And well,the game ended in some kind of a shock as England Gave more then just a 'win'.They Trashed and played that beautiful game which hasn't been present in a long time.looks like Cappelo's Urging of players bringing their League Form into the team paid Dividend's And no it's wasn't those Star Studded money making players that made their names last night,But Instead it was the the Modest striker that saved England's Butt in the Group Stages of the world cup and A Young Player From Man City that is Expect to one of the Future Hotshots of England..
It Jermain Defoe And Adam Johnson stole the Show by scoring the goals that propelled England to A handsome win.But we have to give Jermain More of the Credit with Absolute blockbuster of A game in which he scored A Hat trick!!!
England made the perfect start to the match with a goal in was was only thier first attack of the game on the Bulgarian goal. Full-back Stanislav Manolev gave the ball away to Cole; he left the ball to Rooney who played a chipped pass back into the run of the left back Cole inside the box. The Chelsea man saw his shot saved by Nikolay Mihaylov, but he managed to play the rebound into Defoe who volleyed the ball into the back of the net from five yards for the first goals of many more to come.The English team threatened again in the 18th minute; Johnson played a neat ball forward for speed demon Walcott to chase down the right wing. The Arsenal winger beat his marker with a great run but his low cross was behind Defoe and the ball was cleared just before the resurrected Rooney could pounce on it.
Finally Bulgaria got their first opportunity from an England mistake in the 22th minute. From a short corner routine Chavdar Yankov was able to deliver a A fantastic cross from the left flank looking for Martin Petrov at the far post. In what seem to be an Easy Interception for Glen Johnson was expected but as the full-back looked to turn the ball behind for a corner the ball struck his standing leg and flew towards the England goal. Luckily for the Liverpool defender Joe Hart credited for his Flexibility,Showed it again with his alertness to dive down to push it away.
Later in the match They had a chance to once again double their lead through Milner. Barry Played a Great ball cross field to Cole who played a lovely ball to Rooney But Instead Milner was faster to it and slammed a 25 yard shot but it was easily saved by the keeper.
Just about a minute later,This time Theo Walcott Had A opportunity which he didn't expect as he made a dazzling run into the Bulgarian Defence who were having a torrid time trying to contain his speed and his chip was intended to Rooney But somehow it clipped the defender and to goal but Thanks to the keeper as he tipped the ball away from goal for a corner.
With the last attack to go,It was again England who took the Opportunity As James Milner tried at it again this time cutting inside of Full back Manalov And releasing a shot which went harmlessly wide through a deflection.
It was A bore 5 minutes of the second half,And the first chance finally came For England in the Second half As A headed pass to Defoe Was Decently Chipped to goal as The keeper was quite a distance from Goal but he managed to get back and tip it over again!
Later Bulgaria After so long finally got another chance and it was almost a gifted goal with Dawson mistiming a challenge for the ball enabled Ivalin Popov to dashed into the penalty box but he didn't have the composure as his strike flew high and wide to the crowd.
About few minutes later,England were delt a huge blow And not to Mention his Club Tottenham As Full back Michael Dawson Was going for a challenge on Striker Popov but he somehow twisted his knee and just by his face the amount of agony could be seen.Hopefully it's not that serious,He was stretched off And replaced by Bolton's Gary Cahill For his first ever England Appearance And first Bolton Player to do so Since 2002 In which Michael Ricketts was the last to do so!
And finally,In the 61st minute.They finally doubled their league.From a counter attack shortly after Bulgaria Attack.it took just 14 seconds for England to Reached the other side of the Penalty Box With Wayne Rooney Controlling a nice pass into the left Of Jermain Defoe Who calmly slotted pass the keeper for his second goal of the game for the night.
And Well As Usual,Bulgaria had another opportunity through a defence Lapse by England.This Time Phil Jagielka Failed to clear a long ball clearly and it feel to Angelov In Which he shot forced the keeper to make a great save which was parried into Martin Petrov Who's shot flew over the bar after a deflection by Glen Johnson.
England Continued to push and dominate the game and in the 78th minute,Jermain Defoe Almost got his third goal but The striker who had a glimpse of goal decided to play a pass inside to Gerrard, his grounder was parried by Mihaylov into the path of Defoe and as the striker seemed certain to pounce on the rebound the goalkeeper pushed away by the keeper.
The English finally got their third through their Substitute Adam Johnson with 8 minutes to go of normal time.With Defoe and Rooney both Strikers combining on the edge of the penalty area before playing the ball wide to Johnson on the right, the Manchester City Winger made a great cut inside and fired pass the Hapless keeper who we can't really blame.
Three minutes later England extended their lead to 4 goals with Wayne Rooney who was absolutely influential Passing the ball from halfway line through to Jermain Defoe To Score his Hat Trick to be the first player to do so since Walcott's hat Trick Against Croatia in 2008 .
So overall,It was a huge,huge,HUGE! relieve to see England Play like this after a run of Very worrying games.I would definitely love to see England Build their Form from here and finally Be a real contender in their next big assignment in 2 years time.One thing i was impress was Adam Johnson which i believed Could Fix England's Winger Worries with His Flamboyant Display today.I believe he And Walcott would fit the Bil just great.And Not putting Gerard And Lampard together was good too as both players don't seem to communicate well together and Gerard seems to be far better then Lampard by a great distance! So it seems like Terry And Ferdinand were not the key factors in the Defence after all!As England clearly Played well with their Less Established Defenders.And It was good to see Rooney back into form With some great passes that lead to the goals And Defoe being astonishing like what he does at Tottenham!Sign of good things to come? Wish it will!
