Well i expected this to be a windfall For The Gunners After desposing a stronger Man City Side last weekend but i was left disappointed and certainly the Gunners fan's too.Just like last season's match against Wolves where the gave every fan the fright of their last season,You can say the gave something rather similar to that as the West Ham Defence Defended with literally all the players they had and making Arsenal play smart football rather then their usual fast game.
But the most surprising moment belong to Robert Green for sure!What were the odds of this keeper playing his usual super heroics stuff against Arsenal and the Stuff which also that gave him the number 1 Spot for England?If it wasn't for him,Even with the defence compacting the defence like a peanut butter Sandwich Arsenal would have been 2-3 goals up by the first half.And he produced it in front of the no other then The Manager Of the English National team!
We started the game as usual,Playing the brand of football they are known for,Playing quick passing interchanges between each other but the defence was just to tight for Arsenal to even get a sniff at goal in the first few minutes.But for me honestly,I didn't see that fire which Arsenal showed against Man city but more of the resembling passion they showed against West Brom.
In the middle of the first half,Arsenal did finally give the fans something to cheer with some positive passing almost gave the Arsenal the lead when a through ball into the box for Sagna to cut cross was brilliantly shot by Fabregas but Equally the same shown by Green.And that was the only real chance of the first half as once again Arsenal controlled and nothing came out and West ham just had to do something to chance the possession stat.
Second half came and it was a much much better footballing by Arsenal with Nasri making an outrageous shot 35 yards out which gave the keeper no chance but the crossbar Saved the former England goalkeeper,Chamakh was a treat in the box the whole afternoon and he had 0ne clear chance at goal but it went straight into the keeper's hands.
You could see the anxiousness showed by Arsene and he decided to bring Mid week's hotshots Walcott on for Denilson and Bendtner coming on abit later For Arshavin.And The move almost paid dividends.Fabregas found Walcott with a magnificent, diagonal through ball. The pass was so good; Walcott had time to look up for options, twice, before deciding to hit a low shot towards far corner.It was a good low shot but a magnetic force(My theory) Pushed the ball to the post and somehow Green also seemed to have a magnetic force in him as the ball deflected straight into him.
Things didn't seem to good for Arsenal as minutes tick by and it looked like Bottom club West ham will get a famous point but But when it came, what a moment! Gael Clichy’s trickery was clever,His body language made the defence think as though he was going to cross from the byline with his left foot but instead cross back to cross with his weaker foot with a sublime cross, determined Alex Song throw his body at the ball to head it from a diving Green to snatch the points. His adrenaline-fueled celebrations with last year’s Wolves hero, Nicklas Bendtner, said it all.What a time to win,The fans were ecstatic,The players were ecstatic it just made we wanna strip and ran around as the adrenalin they gave seem to be spreading :P.
Although you could say that Arsenal left it late,But it wasn't their fault you could say as they played well with good attacking plays into the West ham half and were just unlucky with The West ham hardy tight defence plus Parker lending a hand which i think he should have been sent off for the tons of tackles he made.Hmm,Is the Referee being paid by him? lol...All the speculations.These are the games Arsenal gotta win to have a chance of keeping pace with the leaders and they didn't left the fans with a cold heart.Well For West ham,It was a sad day for them but oh well this is football.Just got to keep on trying and not play dull football like the did this time and make more opportunities.Good Job Arsenal!
