Well Guys Arsenal once again proved why they are contenders for the title with another slick display of football which will even get the votes of the most worst of Critics. And what a way to get the victory with an emphatic win away to Aston Villa(Don't ask me why they suck at home) After two back to back defeats in a week. And what i really enjoyed is that they learned from their mistakes against Tottenham in where they fell asleep after the interval which caused Them the win and this time around they pushed forward in every single minute to confirm the victory.
They didn't play any different then they did against Tottenham though, here is what i have studied and found out about their tactic. If you all did realize in the game,Arsenal had like about 5 attackers in the opposing all the time. They pushed up really high and put pressure on the whole team even defence especially. They gave no time for the Villians To settle and that is the type of game i want to see from them week in and week out but sadly they have been quite inconsistent but oh well better enjoy times like this.Oh yeah,And did you see John Carew Being forced up all the way to his own half?...That shows our tight Arsenal's defence were and also the pressure on the mid half that forced the players like Pires and Carew who lack pace to come up which would be a real problem if they did get the ball.
Anyway to the review of the game,Arsenal made some changes with the likes of Fabregas being out so Rosicky was given the chance to start in the first team to add some width to the attack while Young English prodigy came back to lend a hand with his expertise after a back injury ruled him out last week.He replaced Another young man by the name Of Denilson...It was the first time in 4 years Arsenal had the opportunity to meet Frenchmen Robert Pires once again and he was warmly welcomed by his former boss Arsene Wenger which further proves their relationship.
But that soon all changed on the pitch when Arsenal from the start of the 1st second started to rampage the Aston Villa half with torrents of attack and there were close for a great number of times with the first one being A through ball to Chamakh and the Morrocon somehow got the ball pass the keeper but it was to weak and it was cleared of the line. Then Nasri who has done so well this season almost got on the scoresheet when he went pass the defence and keeper...And the goal too as his shot went to the side netting...
Nevertheless,Arsenal continued pushing against this young Aston Villa side in which the defenders look as though they were amateurs as they look totally unsettled and giving the ball away easily. All that combined with Arsenal Attacking you would for sure have expected a goal and that what just happen with 6 minutes left to play the long overdue goal was finally converted by Arshavin via a defence mishap again when an up field kick by Fabianksi was both contested between Young and Collins which prove a wrong choice as none of them got it and Arshavin punished them by scoring from the edge of the area.
Just as the half look to be ending with a solitary goal, but before the end...Arsenal managed to add more misery to Aston Villa with a beautiful flighted volley By Nasri to pay avenged that miss he made earlier. So it was 2:0 in the first half but i wasn't really excited to admit because this was like de ja vu all over again like the match against Tottenham in where they dominated so much ,got the two goals and the keeper hardly tested.
Anyway the second half started and Robert Pires who barely got the ball was taken off,Maybe he loved the club to much he didn't have the heart to cause any damage haha. And like last eek,the opposing team got into their stride and not long after the got the goal to bring back the de ja vu and ghosts of Tottenham past...7 minutes after the start, one of Villa's Young kids made a beautiful left foot volley to cut the lead to one with only their first strike of the game. But I think the referee should have blown the whistle for Offside for something because Carew was in the offside position so long and he somehow did manage to block the keeper view because Fabainski had to look around him to see the ball...So Fabianski,Your forgiven! :P.
But Arsenal Thankfully Up the tempo once again as just minutes later, they pegged back the Villians immediately when another through ball set up Chamakh who this time didn't waste it by sliding it home to further impress in his first season for the club with his 10th goal for the club in 21 appearances.Aston Villa and the put pressure on our frail defence(good tactic by them)..And in the 71st Minute all that pressure got to the defence and Clark took the opportunity by heading in a set piece.Arsenal Inability to take care of set pieces has been a great downfall to the team which I think they must improve fast before teams bite them in the butt.
Arsenal then made some good changes probably to preserve the lead by adding on defensive players like Denilson and Gibbs and well that seemed to work as Aston Villa didn't seem to break the barrier after that. The game looked to have to be done with goals but once again Arsenal pushed up with their 5 attackers which again caused problem to the Villa's defence and Some neat thinking by Chamakh to cross the ball cross goal to Wilshire settled the game off in Injury time to get those three valuable points to leap into first spot for now...Hopefully Arsenal will continue this type of play!
