Review of Bolton Vs Tottenham 6/11/10

Badge of Bolton Wanderers VSTottenham Hotspur.svg

Fresh From their Brilliant Display against Inter Milan,Tottenham were ceraintly on the cards to win this one and i'm pretty sure that Bolton couldn't argue with that with only a win in 8 games and Tottenham great form domestic and international would certainly see a game of quality, determination and whatever it takes to bring out a perfect game.Bolton would want to overcome that late defeat to Liverpool last week while Tottenham would want to push away that controversy against Man Utd last week and move on(They already did it at Inter Milan). But they haven't gotten 3 points at Reebok before so the outcome is in the balance of both teams.

Owen Coyle Stucked with the same line up,Influential midfielder Matt Taylor Kept his spot in the centre of the pitch with Martin Petrov on the bench after recovering from A hamstring Injury. For Tottenham, they made 4 changes from Mid week with Gomes returning from Suspension,Van Der Vaart And lennoN Injured while Huddlestone was left on the bench.Palacios,Kranjcar and Sandro came in to fill in the void left.Harry Rednknapp already sides often fumble out in the domestic matches after a Buoyant week in International Competitions but he would certainly want his Tottenham side to change the tread which has been going on for years(History in the making?)...Well sorry mate,It already was broken long time ago by...Non English clubs haha...

And as expected,Tottenham looked all over the place probably to fatigue And Steinsson's Cross with his outer boot almost unexpectedly beat the keeper at the far post but did well enough to Tip it away.Dangerous cross as Elmander was lurking in the box.First let off for the London club, what i was particular interested was the defenders didn't seem confident all.For A defence that played in the champions league,They just looked like an ordinary defence on this day with Younes Kaboul making one of the many string of defensive mistakes when his slice clearance bobbled to goal but good thing Gomes was there.

Later In the game,Once again defensive mistake but this time it resulted to a fine goal as Gomes distributed to Sandro who i didn't what he was doing,He dallied on the ball far to long and you can't do that if A player of Muamba is near by where he made an excellent challenge which rolled to Elmander who knocked it on to Davies and well with the Defence already split and napping and Davies prowess in attack. It was a matter of counting down the seconds for the first goal when he Unleashed a great low shot into the bottom net for His 3rd goal of the season. But you could ask questions though that Davies apparently looked offside but the flag stayed down.1-0 in the 31st minute to signal it was going to be a great half for Bolton and end the half with the lead

Second half,One defender that was pleasing was Gallas who brought his attacking known football from Arsenal to Tottenham as he was attacking the whole game.Running into defence and releasing shots with one forcing the keeper to make a save and just when through the legs of the Ongoing Crouch which just needed a simple touch to get the ball into the net.

Oh yeah I can't forget about the hottest property in football so far with Welshmen Gareth Bale who starred in both legs of the matches against Inter Milan almost had his name of the score sheet himself as his freekick hit the bar but the keeper looked to have the post covered already but it was a great freekick no question.

From there on,Tottenham didn't know what hit them. They were not really in the game with only a decent series of chances but not dangerous enough to keep the Bolton's defence at the back when they also had shots for themselves with Cahill coming close but the ball curled out to much. And i was wondering when was the next goal as the game was free flowing for Bolton but no goals after that which for me is a rip off but my was was granted a few minutes later A minute later when Another defender Greta Steinsson tried his luck and it was a joy to behold. The Icelandic who was one of the best players on the pitch turned and found the space and whack one at it and it flew into the side netting giving the chance no keeper to end to Tottenham's Worry.

It was different side for Tottenham in the second half,As Harry named a more attacking flow of football with Palvychencko entering the pitch but the mid week injuries and fatigue look to be coming upon Tottenham. And Bolton seemed to getting better and confident and Matt Taylor,Another player who impressed on that day almost got a deserved goal but his volley at goal hit the post and out.And again,Just As Tottenham were getting slowly back the defence frustrated again when Gallas who was known for his attacking play at Arsenal was also known to make silly mistakes and that's what he did.The Frenchmen didn't seem pressured at all and gave a back pass which i don't know who he was looking for and Bolton once again attacked with pace and precision and That led to the ball out of a sudden coming to The feet Of Lee who was tucked from the back by Ekotto for a penalty.Up Step up their main frontman Davies,Look confident and finished of confident for his second goal in front of Fabio Cappelo.3-0 in the 76th minute to finish of the game.

But Tottenham came back in just two minutes to show their quality and it was in the form of Right back Alan Hutton skipping through the defence and letting go a sweet left foot swinging shot into the net.Jasskelainen i don't think knew what was happening only until it hit the net to give Tottenham a slice of chance. One thing Bolton learned themselves,Never leave Space For any Tottenham player on the pitch.

Bolton look to have settled it but Tottenham still didn't come and With Bale into the box.Not cleanly cleared by Bolton's defence which set up Palvychencko who waited patiently for the ball to reached the right height to send it an absolute peach of goal! Goaaaalllllllllll!!! And Suddenly Bolton's Dominance in the game looked to be a waste and Tottenham were back into the game out of a sudden.Any kid who wants to be a striker gotta learn from this Man.

Some Scare there for Tottenham as Huddlestone probably frustrated took a chance to take a step onto Elmander who was on the ground but luckily for him and Tottenham. The Referee didn't see it and from there Gallas once again pushed into Bolton's half but easily disposed and that soon backfired.Tottenham seemed lost without a full set of defenders as Bolton once again countered attack to put pressure on the defence when a back header by Taylor set up Returning Midfielder Martin Petrov who came of the bench to pouch of the ball at the death to put doubt on any comeback by Tottenham to condemned them to a second straight lost and Bolton pushed up to a good 6th placing wit 15 points to put them close to the top 4.Bale didn't seem to be at his best and well you could say the whole team. From the start they didn't seem to dictate play with Bolton Playing around the ball making the tired Tottenham team chase them.Anyway a valuable win for Bolton and co.
